Don't Talk and Drive

In California it is illegal to talk and drive, but still people do it. I admit I have done it but it's rare. Starting today though, no more! This morning while on the way home from picking up Jase from school I was almost hit head on by a woman talking on her phone. She wasn't paying attention and was driving in my lane straight for me, while speeding. It is very hilly around here and I didn't even know she was in my lane until I hit the top of hill. I was able to move out of her way by driving into someone's yard, but she did hit my side mirror. She didn't even stop to see if we were ok, she simply drove off. The people that lived in the house where I had stopped saw the whole thing and called the police with her plate number.

I am lucky that I was able to react so quickly and we are ok. Jase was terrified, as was I, and my anxiety is horrible today from it. All I saw in my mind was all those videos they make you watch in drivers ed about adding the speeds together when you hit head on, I was going 40 and she had to be going at least 50....

So please I beg you put the phone down, it's not worth it.

  2. I hope so too! I still can't believe she didn't stop, but then again she probably didn't even notice the entire thing ugh

  3. OMG! I am glad that you guys weren't physically hurt!! I hate stupid people! Hopefully that woman gets busted for that crap she pulled!

Just recently, I was driving home on the highway, and some woman was too busy talking on her phone that she almost hit my car. She switched lanes and didn't check to see if a car was in the lane and didn't use her signal. I got so mad! Luckily no one was in the lane to my right, so I got over before she hit me. I only ever answer my phone when I'm driving if it's Mark because it has to be important if he's calling me. Otherwise, the texts, e-mails, and phone calls can wait.
